About The Position

As a Safety Specialist, you’ll assist the Safety and Health Manager in implementation of policies and programs necessary to fully comply with Nestlé Purina PetCare “Safety” Programs and Loss Control objectives. Provide training and ensure proper communication at all levels of the plant to achieve full preparation in the Safety and Health programs and compliance with necessary regulations. Make an impact as you act as a resource to all departments in the plant to provide safety and loss control support.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
2+ years of experience in safety in a manufacturing environment
1+ year of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, military or related environment

Nice To Haves

1+ years' industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military or related environment

Responsibilities

Gather data and analyze reports, including stoppage analysis and other production line data.
Analyze SH&E conditions and behaviors for recommendations to continuously improve Site SH&E performance to world class levels.
Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure Site compliance with company and regulatory agency policies, including federal, state and local legislation and regulations pertaining to Safety and Health.
Collaborate across value streams and provide coaching to ensure overall data health within the facility.
Administer training programs associated with safety and health including “train the trainer” sessions to build capability of line supervision.
Implement and promote Focused Improvement methodologies, leading and supporting Focused Improvement projects and sponsoring IWGs within the facility.
