About The Position

BMWC is an industrial construction company seeking a Safety Specialist II to join the team. This crucial role supports the safe delivery of large-scale industrial construction projects and works closely with project managers, project engineers, field supervision, craft professionals, and company operations leaders. You will be part of a top-performing project team and contribute directly to maintaining BMWC’s strong safety culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or equivalent years of experience in construction safety.
• Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in a construction, industrial or manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA 510 and OSHA 10 certifications preferred.
• NCCER certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers, Project Engineers and Field Supervision with safety-related tasks and initiatives.
• Conduct safety training as needed.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, company, and customer safety policies and procedures on project.
• Conduct field safety audits and support corrective action follow-up.
• Train and educate location management and field personnel on safety responsibilities, behaviors, and accident prevention techniques.
• Assist with incident investigations and support the development of corrective actions.
• Work with local leadership and field personnel to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls.
• Partner with other contractors and the client to address safety concerns and reinforce safe work practices.
• Assist in preparing and conducting weekly safety toolbox talks.
• Travel and work on construction projects throughout the U.S. as needed.
