About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Safety Shower Maintenance Technician to join our Team. This position has a high percentage of maintenance time testing, cleaning and maintaining safety showers and eyewash stations. The work is performed outside and within critical environments of the facility. The individual in this role must be reliable and able to perform work to the highest standards and within a team environment. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state equivalent required.
  • Skilled and physically able to operate hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry loads, and operate required equipment.
  • Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
  • Able to work on roofs of buildings.
  • Completion of written documentation is required.
  • Familiarity with computers and operations and office automation applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Oregon or other driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher
  • Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
  • Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
  • Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
  • Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
  • Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge of working within a cleanroom environment is a plus.
  • Prior experience maintaining a high tech or cleanroom, highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with facilities equipment descriptors such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Experience working in purchasing or subcontracting in a manufacturing, maintenance, or a related service field.
  • Experience with CMMS.
  • Experience overseeing storeroom operations.
  • Experience streamlining and improving inventory practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on facility equipment with a professional and safe approach.
  • Provide professional feedback to update preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain tools and orders supplies as required for installation and repairs.
  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of chemicals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks and completes documentation in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs.
