About The Position

We're looking for a Safety & Security Specialist to provide day-to-day security for our Home Office employees. This role is responsible for detailed patrol of the corporate complex to ensure a safe and secure operating environment. This includes regular inspections and verification of functionality of alarms, security doors, elevator phones, CCTVs, etc. The specialist will report and assist in the resolution of hazardous or safety related problems. They will provide a high level of customer service assistance to visitors entering campus and ensure proper access is followed. This role requires knowledge and ability to staff all security posts while monitoring entrances to building, alarm responses and reception duties. The specialist responds to and conducts interviews to obtain complete and accurate information regarding incidents occurring involving employees and/or property to include but not limited to criminal actions, vehicle and pedestrian accidents, slip/falls, damaged property, etc. They will act as liaison with police and fire officials as needed. The role maintains appropriate security/safety records and prepares reports as required through the on-line incident reporting form. The specialist responds to all requests for assistance and provides escort service as needed to parking garages and/or flat lots. They assess emergency situations, resolve, or assist in the resolution of conflict in a prompt and efficient manner, using conflict intervention when needed to prevent situations from escalating. The specialist serves as an emergency response team member responding to emergency situations in the corporate complex as needed, providing first aid, CPR and AED as needed. Other job-related duties and special projects may be required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of security or customer-related experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Good customer service and oral and written communication skills required.
  • Good planning/organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of or ability to attain knowledge of various emergency and security related equipment/systems required.
  • Ability to prioritize efficiently with little supervision, think and act quickly and calmly in emergency situations and exercise good judgment.
  • Able to be certified in CPR, AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) and basic first aid.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy while being detail oriented.
  • Ability to rotate between walking, standing, and sitting for 8-10 hours per shift.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
