About The Position

The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for providing safety and security services to the Frontier Mint through randomized patrols, effective CCTV and access control monitoring, and the ability to think on one’s feet and make sound judgment calls best suited for the safety and security of the overall company. Requirements

  • High school diploma required, Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Must be able to work an overnight shift
  • Schedule may change based on the needs of the growing company
  • Ability to periodically work different shifts/schedules/weekends as needed
  • Military, security, and or law enforcement experience; minimum of (4) years’ experience
  • Valid Utah Security License preferred
  • Valid Utah Drivers’ License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to arrive to work on time
  • Ability to pass, and continue to pass a detailed background check, credit check, and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible security presence to ensure the protection and safety of all company assets, leadership, employees, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to the organization and provide continuous, quality work
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors and participates in organization and departmental safety programs
  • Deter and report any property loss, damage, or other conditions that may create security escalations, financial losses, and or on-site safety hazards
  • Proactively use and or monitor multi-site security cameras, access control, and other loss prevention systems and tools to ensure all safety and security protocols are being consistently maintained and adhered to
  • Assure that all company interior and exterior spaces are patrolled and cleared of hazards
  • Security oversight of daily retail, shipping, and receiving functions; monitor customer/visitor traffic flow
  • Assist the Director of Safety & Risk Management with new employee training and onboarding as it relates to security-related items
  • Assist the Director of Safety & Risk Management with investigations as needed
  • Complete required daily patrols, tasks, reports and checklists in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Safety & Risk Management and or executive management

  • Comply with all company standard operating procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. (Ex: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Conduct regular inspections of the building, premises, and common areas to identify needed repairs, safety hazards, and security issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, local building codes, and environmental standards, including fire safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Manage 24/7 emergency response protocols and act as the primary contact for after-hours facility-related emergencies.
  • Source, vet, and onboard new local contractors and service providers to support specialized maintenance needs (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, janitorial).
  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with local vendors, fostering trust and collaboration to improve service quality and responsiveness.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of approved local vendors, tracking contract expiration dates, insurance, and compliance documents.
