About The Position

The Safety & Security Specialist supports PharmaLink’s safety and physical security initiatives by coordinating programs, managing projects, and promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and accountability across the organization. Reporting to the HR Director, this role partners with the Safety Committee, Operations, IT, Quality, and leadership teams to support the implementation, communication, and sustainability of workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and physical security programs for facility and field-based employees. This position serves as a key operational partner, helping ensure initiatives are effectively coordinated, tracked, and executed while driving employee engagement and organizational accountability. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, collaborative, and skilled at managing cross-functional projects and follow-through across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Business, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–4 years of experience in safety, security, operations, HR, or related environment preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated environments is a plus.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude in a high-performance team environment.
  • Must pass background check and random drug screenings.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a diverse work force
  • Basic knowledge of workplace safety and physical security practices

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the rollout and execution of company-wide safety initiatives and programs.
  • Coordinate and track safety-related projects, corrective actions, and committee initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership and the Safety Committee to help translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans.
  • Assist with maintaining safety policies, procedures, and work instructions in collaboration with HR and Quality.
  • Promote a proactive and engaged safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Support administration and coordination of physical security processes, including badge/access processes, visitor procedures, and security-related documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Securitas to coordinate day-to-day security operations at the facility.
  • Assist with maintaining emergency contact lists, escalation procedures, and emergency preparedness resources.
  • Coordinate with Operations, IT, vendors, and leadership regarding alarm systems, security access, and emergency response processes.
  • Support facility emergency preparedness initiatives, including evacuation planning, drills, and response coordination.
  • Help track and follow up on security-related incidents, concerns, or vulnerabilities.
  • Assist with maintaining keyholder, access authorization, and emergency response documentation.
  • Serve as an active member of the Safety Committee, helping coordinate meetings, agendas, action items, and follow-ups.
  • Track and communicate progress on safety and security initiatives across departments.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, IT, and other departments to promote consistent safety and security practices.
  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Specialist and Quality department to ensure alignment where compliance and operational activities intersect, while maintaining clear departmental ownership boundaries.
  • Coordinate and support safety and security training initiatives, including onboarding, emergency response awareness, forklift certification, and refresher training.
  • Partner with Training & Development to ensure assignments and completion tracking within the LMS.
  • Promote employee engagement through awareness campaigns, committee participation, and safety/security communications.
  • Support leaders in reinforcing accountability and safe workplace behaviors.
  • Assist in coordinating and documenting incident, injury, near-miss, and security-related reporting.
  • Support investigations and help track corrective actions and follow-up activities.
  • Ensure documentation is organized, timely, and audit-ready.
  • Identify trends and escalate concerns or recurring issues to leadership.
  • Support compliance efforts related to OSHA and applicable workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain training records, inspection documentation, action trackers, and other safety/security-related records.
  • Assist with internal audits, walkthroughs, and inspection preparation.
  • Partner with Quality regarding document control processes where appropriate.
  • Conduct routine facility safety and security walkthroughs and observations.
  • Assist in identifying hazards, vulnerabilities, or operational risks and tracking corrective actions.
  • Support safety awareness for outside sales/service employees and other field-based roles.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams regarding facility-related safety or security concerns as needed.
