About The Position

The Safety & Security Officer Trainee role is responsible for assisting in maintaining the safety and security of Rochester Regional Health facilities under supervision. The trainee will learn and demonstrate the duties of a full security officer, including performing security patrols, answering security calls, conducting initial investigations, and responding to emergencies. The role emphasizes customer service and teamwork, and the trainee will receive on-the-job training in all essential security functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• NYS Security Guard License
• Valid NYS Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Complete required security training, certifications, and shadowing to learn hospital policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Assist with patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and emergency drills while gaining hands-on experience.
• Identify and report hazards, participate in fire safety checks, and support patient and visitor safety initiatives.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident and activity reports while learning investigatory and documentation practices.
• Uphold hospital values, demonstrate integrity, and work collaboratively under guidance to develop into a fully independent Security Officer.
