This SQS position - pending certification is Full Time 40 hours a week. Mostly day shift with some rotation to off shifts and occasional weekend shift. This team is looking for a candidate with strong leadership capabilities, experience in quality improvement and change management, as well as a highly effective team collaborator. Previous CPD and /or Operating Room experience preferred. Local/department program leader for patient safety and quality improvement initiatives that improve patient outcomes within a defined patient care area (microsystem). Utilizes Company improvement framework, sustains and spreads improvements. Effectively partners with nursing and medical leadership to determine improvement priorities that are in alignment with organizational goals. Develops strong working teams to make improvements. Inspires members of the clinical area to fully engage in improvements that achieve high outcomes and works to ensure there are zero events of preventable harm. Develops and advances own expertise related to quality improvement, change management, high reliability, influence, and project management. Fully masters the organizational leadership competencies. In hybrid roles, the SQS Pending Certification also meets all requirements of a Clinical Nurse providing patient care in the unit of interest. The Clinical Nurse practices at the level of an advanced beginner to expert practitioner of professional nursing in accordance with, and guided by the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model. The nurse at this level demonstrates competence in caring for patients and families and progresses to caring for those with the most complex problems/highest acuity in the designated clinical area. Provides age/developmentally appropriate care. Care is delivered through RN leadership for patient care within the framework of family-centered care. The Clinical Nurse adheres to the organizational and nursing department mission, vision, and values. S/he practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics; the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice; practice standards of applicable specialty nursing organizations; and CHOP developed standards of nursing practice. The professional nurse practices within the defined scope of practice designated by the Nurse Practice Acts of Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey, depending on the assigned work site.
