The State of Connecticut, Workers' Compensation Commission (WCC), is accepting applications for the position of Safety Program Officer in Hartford, CT. The WCC is a statewide agency dedicated to promoting safe and healthy workplaces across Connecticut. This role may design, develop and conduct training, offer practical recommendations to improve safety at each worksite, and support WCC's statutory responsibility under C.G.S. 31 40v to guide and oversee employer safety and health committee programs. The Safety Program Officer works independently to help employers establish and maintain effective safety and health committees in compliance with state requirements. The Workers' Compensation Commission (WCC) administers the workers' compensation laws of the State of Connecticut with the ultimate goal of ensuring that workers injured on the job receive prompt payment of wage loss benefits and appropriate medical treatment. To this end, the Commission approves voluntary agreements, adjudicates disputes, issues findings and awards, hears and rules on appeals, and closes out pending cases through full and final stipulated agreements.
