About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards, analyzing safety data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions and training. The Safety Professional will also conduct job behavior observations, collaborate with the team to address unique safety challenges, and stay current with inspection processes through field work. A key aspect of this role is supporting and acting in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership, while complying with all applicable laws and company policies. The position requires regular attendance and may involve outside travel, with potential for extended duty during emergencies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulations – OSHA, ANSI, DOT.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations relating to Utility Vegetation Management (UVM).
  • Understanding of risk assessment of jobsite hazards and appropriate hazard controls.
  • Proficiency in program specifications, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to train and educate employees on safety initiatives.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Superior organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.
  • Five years’ experience supporting or leading safety programs from any industry. This may include safety requirements, recognizing, and/or mitigating workplace hazards.
  • Complete OSHA 30 within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with SCE safety standards, handbook, and COSP.
  • Analyze safety data in various systems (Lytx, Geotab, Fleetio).
  • Identify safety trends, incident reports, and processes to determine necessary corrective actions and/or training.
  • Compile and submit monthly safety deliverables to client.
  • Complete job behavior observations on field personnel within client contract and follow up with corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team to identify unique safety challenges to the client and help develop appropriate trainings and/or processes to reduce future challenges.
  • Remain current with inspection processes and practices by performing regular field work as needed.
  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
