About The Position

The Safety Professional assists in overseeing aspects of the safety program. They review critical field observations and safety data to the Safety Manager and provide feedback on and administer operational improvements, with frequent travel.

Requirements

  • Five years’ experience supporting or leading safety programs from any industry. This may include: safety requirements, recognizing, and/or mitigating workplace hazards.
  • ISA Arborist Certification.
  • A State issued Driver’s License with a clear MVR.
  • Complete OSHA 30 within 6 months of start date.
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification.
  • Knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulations – OSHA, ANSI, DOT.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations relating to Utility Vegetation Management (UVM).
  • Knowledge of risk assessment of jobsite hazards and appropriate hazard controls.
  • Exhibit proficiency in program specifications, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to train and educate employees on safety initiatives
  • Ability to work both independently and as team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Superior organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with SCE safety standard, handbook, and COSP.
  • Analyze safety data in various systems (Lytx, Geotab, Fleetio).
  • Identify safety trends, incident reports, and processes to determine necessary corrective actions and/or training.
  • Compile and submit monthly safety deliverables to client.
  • Complete job behavior observations on field personnel within client contract and follow up with corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team to identify unique safety challenges to the client and help develop appropriate trainings and/or processes to reduce future challenges.
  • Remain current with inspection processes and practices by performing regular field work as needed.
  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright and CNUC’s culture of safety and employee ownership.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
