About The Position

The Safety Professional builds, leads, and manages the on-site safety program to prevent workplace injuries and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The role partners with the on-site manager, supervisors, associates, and client leadership to strengthen a culture of safety through training, audits, incident investigations, and continuous process improvement. As a trusted advisor and liaison, the Safety Professional drives effective safety practices, supports injury management and return-to-work processes, and helps maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. The role advances risk reduction and incident prevention, operational enablement, stakeholder partnership, and workforce development and well-being. It uses proactive safety practices and data-driven insights to protect employees, strengthen operations, and build trusted partnerships with the client and Manpower. The Safety Professional addresses safety concerns with talent, documents and reviews incidents and near-misses, and collaborates with site leadership and the client to resolve hazards and prevent recurrence. The role ensures compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations; maintains audit-ready records; conducts audits and floor observations; identifies gaps and at-risk behaviors; and delivers coaching and feedback. It develops and updates site-specific safety programs, policies, procedures, and training materials in response to operational needs, incidents, and changes. The position leads new-hire safety orientations and hands-on training, aligns training with job requirements, evaluates its effectiveness, and maintains compliance records. It communicates daily with associates and other stakeholders. When the Site Manager is absent, it serves as the designated site leadership representative, providing guidance, addressing operational concerns, and escalating critical issues. On-site presence at the client location is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in warehousing, production, and/or manufacturing environments.
Digital literacy with desktop applications, including MS Suite, SharePoint, Outlook, and Workforce Management Systems.
OSHA 30 certification; the company will provide access to the class to obtain it.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Safety.
Previous experience in safety-focused roles in the staffing/workforce industry.
Previous supervisory or team lead experience.

Responsibilities

Build, lead, and manage the on-site safety program to prevent workplace injuries and ensure regulatory compliance.
Partner with the on-site manager, supervisors, associates, and client leadership to promote a proactive safety culture.
Address and document safety concerns with talent, providing feedback and promoting continuous improvement.
Review and document incidents and near-misses, and collaborate with site leadership and the client to resolve hazards and establish preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements, maintain audit-ready documentation, and support regulatory inspections.
Conduct safety audits and warehouse floor observations, monitor compliance, identify gaps and at-risk behaviors, and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
Develop, implement, review, and enhance site-specific safety programs, policies, procedures, and training materials.
Lead new-hire safety orientations and hands-on training; align training with job requirements, assess effectiveness, and maintain compliance records.
Support injury management and return-to-work processes.
Communicate clearly with associates, peers, stakeholders, and leadership, using active listening to build trust and alignment.
Represent site leadership in the Site Manager’s absence, guide site personnel, address operational concerns, and escalate critical issues.
