About The Position

The Safety Professional will ensure compliance with safety standards, analyze safety data, identify trends, and compile monthly safety deliverables. This role involves conducting job behavior observations, collaborating with the team to address unique safety challenges, and staying current with inspection processes through field work. The position supports Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Regular attendance and participation in meetings are expected. The role may require some outside travel and extended duty during emergencies.

Requirements

Knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulations – OSHA, ANSI, DOT
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations relating to Utility Vegetation Management (UVM)
Understanding of risk assessment of jobsite hazards and appropriate hazard controls
Proficiency in program specifications, regulations, and standards
Ability to train and educate employees on safety initiatives
Ability to work both independently and as team
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Superior organization and time management skills
Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
Five years’ experience supporting or leading safety programs from any industry. This may include safety requirements, recognizing, and/or mitigating workplace hazards
Complete OSHA 30 within 6 months of start date

A state issued driver’s license with a clear MVR
Spanish language proficiency

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with SCE safety standard, handbook, and COSP
Analyze safety data in various systems (Lytx, Geotab, Fleetio)
Identify safety trends, incident reports, and processes to determine necessary corrective actions and/or training
Compile and submit monthly safety deliverables to client
Complete job behavior observations on field personnel within client contract and follow up with corrective actions as necessary
Collaborate with team to identify unique safety challenges to the client and help develop appropriate trainings and/or processes to reduce future challenges
Remain current with inspection processes and practices by performing regular field work as needed
Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership
Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures
Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
