About The Position

Maine Drilling & Blasting (MD&B) is seeking a Safety Professional responsible for the local market. This role involves ensuring on-site compliance with regulatory agencies such as MSHA, OSHA, BATF, DOT, DEP, and local state & town regulatory agencies. The primary goal is to foster a strong safety culture and ensure that divisions and operations adhere to applicable regulations and company standards. Requirements

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and establish mutual trust quickly.
Ability to ask thoughtful questions and take a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Proven understanding of safety principles, regulations, and best practices.
Knowledge to identify general safety hazards and ensure that all team members are aligned.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, record keeping, and injury management skills.

Nice To Haves

An Associates degree or higher is preferred, but not required.
Experience within the construction industry is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Conduct safety observations at jobsites, magazines, & shops to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards (MSHA; OSHA; DOT; BATF; DEP; state & local regulatory agencies).
Document non-compliant conditions, responsible persons, and actions required.
Distribute safety observation reports to responsible division or operation and collaborate to correct conditions found.
Correct non-compliant conditions at the time of observation when able.
Collaborate and assist with incident investigations.
Facilitate WC claim submission.
Assist employees in utilizing a return-to-work program.
Maintain consistent communication with their Regional Safety Manager/Supervisor to establish priorities and ensure strategic safety goals are achieved.
Demonstrate a strong safety focus, emphasizing that the safety and health of all employees is paramount to ensuring everyone makes it home safely.
Communicate the message of the Company Safety Vision and Values.
