About The Position

Compass Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations SME / Analyst to support Naval Special Warfare (NSW) unmanned systems (UxS) safety programs. This role supports UAS mishap investigations, safety reporting, and risk management initiatives in alignment with NAVSPECWARCOM requirements. The Analyst will conduct risk assessments, support safety investigations, and provide recommendations to improve operational safety and effectiveness. This position works closely with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards and operational risk management (ORM) processes.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Minimum 5 years supporting UxS operations
  • Strong understanding of aviation safety principles and ORM processes
  • Experience analyzing operational or safety data
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) certification within six months

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting Naval Special Warfare (NSW), NAVSPECWARCOM, or USSOCOM safety programs
  • Experience supporting UxS mishap investigations or safety reporting programs
  • Familiarity with NAVSPECWARCOM and Navy aviation safety instructions and reporting processes
  • Experience applying Operational Risk Management (ORM) in training or operational environments
  • Prior experience working in high-risk training environments (HRT)

Responsibilities

  • Support UxS safety programs, mishap investigations, and safety reporting initiatives
  • Conduct risk assessments and support Operational Risk Management (ORM) processes
  • Analyze safety trends, incidents, and operational data to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with DoD, Navy, and NAVSPECWARCOM aviation safety standards and procedures
  • Assist in development and maintenance of safety documentation, reports, and briefings
  • Support coordination with stakeholders to address safety concerns and improve operational processes
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Participate in safety reviews, working groups, and program meetings
  • Provide recommendations to enhance operational safety, efficiency, and mission readiness
  • Maintain accurate training records, documentation, and reporting in accordance with program requirements
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, instructors, and cross-functional teams to support training execution and continuous improvement
  • Support integration of simulation tools and emerging technologies into training programs
