About The Position

Join the Baker College Campus Safety Team and help create a secure, welcoming environment for all. As a Campus Safety Officer, you'll play a key role in protecting students, faculty, staff, and visitors by patrolling assigned areas on foot or in vehicles, monitoring buildings and grounds, and responding to emergencies. Your responsibilities include enforcing campus rules, providing escorts and assistance such as lockouts or jump-starts, reporting safety hazards, investigating incidents, and securing facilities. You'll also monitor parking areas, collaborate with law enforcement when necessary, and serve as a Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. Requirements

  • Two years of work experience, either full- or part-time, in law enforcement, military, or security
  • Maintain a valid Concealed Pistol License
  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR/AED
  • Meet the qualifications set forth by the laws of the State of Michigan and Baker College
  • Required to carry a firearm as a condition of employment
  • Provide and carry a personally owned quality large or medium frame semi-automatic pistol in either 9mm or .40 caliber, suitable for duty use
  • Provide and utilize a quality holster with a minimum level II retention rating

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred.
