Requirements
- B.S. degree in Environmental, Health, or Safety discipline preferred.
- 5-7 years of related experience in construction safety.
- Proficiency in OSHA standards, fall protection, PPE, LOTO, confined space, and other safety practices.
- Proven success in developing and implementing safety programs.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required).
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and leadership abilities.
Nice To Haves
- additional certifications (e.g., MAWP, PIT, ASP) are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Safety Programs: Create, implement, and manage company-wide safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with staff, leadership, HR, and executive management.
- Lead Training and Education: Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks.
- Design and deliver ongoing safety communications like lunch-and-learns.
- Perform Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Investigate and Manage Incidents: Lead investigations into accidents and near-misses.
- Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to promote safety awareness.
- Advise on safety aspects during project planning and execution.
- Manage Risk and Compliance: Develop site-specific safety plans.
- Maintain records of safety activities and incidents.
- Continuously Improve Safety Culture: Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and best practices.
- Recommend and implement strategies to enhance safety.
