Requirements

  • 5–10 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA manufacturing standards
  • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship‑building skills
  • Comfortable working hands‑on in an active plant environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field
  • ASP, CSP, or similar safety certification
  • Experience in small‑to‑mid‑size manufacturing organizations

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent and visible presence on the manufacturing floor
  • Build strong working relationships with supervisors and hourly employees
  • Reinforce the expectation that safety is everyone’s responsibility
  • Coach supervisors on leading safety conversations and behaviors
  • Lead toolbox talks, shift‑level discussions, and safety stand‑downs
  • Promote proactive reporting of near‑misses and hazards
  • Own and maintain OSHA compliance programs
  • Conduct job safety analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments
  • Lead incident and near‑miss investigations with a focus on root cause and prevention
  • Develop and guide Safety Committee
  • Manage safety training for new hires and ongoing refresher requirements
  • Review existing safety procedures for clarity, effectiveness, and real‑world usability
  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to mitigate and eliminate hazards
  • Track safety trends using leading and lagging indicators
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections as needed
  • Review new products, processes and equipment for employee safety
  • Monitor safety KPIs such as training completion, near‑miss reporting, and incident trends
  • Provide clear, actionable safety updates to plant leadership
  • Emphasize learning, accountability, and improvement over blame
