About The Position

Sheakley is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support a major industrial construction project at a National Resilience manufacturing facility in West Chester, OH. The project includes heavy rigging operations, sanitary piping installation, welding, and related construction activities within an active manufacturing environment. The Safety Manager will provide hands-on field oversight to ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and the project's site-specific safety program. This position requires a highly visible field presence, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to identify hazards before they result in incidents. The selected professional will work closely with project leadership, subcontractors, craft personnel, and client representatives to maintain safe operations throughout all phases of construction.

Requirements

  • OSHA 510 certification required
  • Previous Safety Manager experience on industrial construction projects
  • Strong heavy rigging safety experience
  • Working knowledge of welding and hot-work safety requirements
  • Experience supporting construction within an active or occupied manufacturing facility
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing subcontractor safety performance
  • Ability to work extended hours and Saturdays when required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent field presence and monitor daily construction activities
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments
  • Provide safety oversight for heavy rigging, welding, hot work, and sanitary piping installation
  • Review work plans, permits, JSAs, JHAs, and pre-task planning documentation
  • Verify contractor compliance with OSHA, client, and site-specific safety requirements
  • Lead employee and subcontractor safety orientations
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field safety discussions
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and ensure timely corrective action
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, property damage, and safety concerns
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective-action tracking
  • Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and project documentation
  • Coordinate safety initiatives with project management, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Promote accountability and a proactive safety culture throughout the project
