About The Position

Sheakley is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support an active electrical manufacturing facility in Cleveland, OH. This is a strong opportunity for a safety professional with experience in live manufacturing environments, construction oversight, contractor coordination, and OSHA compliance. The facility will remain operational while construction, renovation, and upgrade activities are taking place, so this role requires someone who can balance safety expectations with real-time production demands. The Safety Manager will serve as the primary EHS resource on-site, maintaining a visible field presence, identifying hazards, supporting safe work planning, and helping ensure contractors, trades, and plant personnel are aligned with site safety expectations. This role will support both active manufacturing operations and ongoing construction or renovation work inside the facility.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of safety management experience
  • Experience supporting active manufacturing facilities
  • Experience working in or around clean room environments
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1926 and OSHA 1910 standards
  • Experience managing contractor safety in active facility settings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day direction
  • Availability to support 40 to 50 hours per week
  • Must be local to the Cleveland, OH area, no per diem available

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing site safety for construction, renovation, and manufacturing activities
  • Supporting OSHA 1926 and OSHA 1910 compliance across site operations
  • Conducting daily safety walks, audits, inspections, and observations
  • Identifying hazards and working with leadership to implement corrective actions
  • Supporting safe work planning for contractors, trades, and plant personnel
  • Leading or assisting with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety communications
  • Monitoring work taking place near live production areas and clean room environments
  • Supporting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions
  • Coordinating with project managers, contractors, plant leadership, and facility teams
  • Maintaining safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
