About The Position

Join a structural steel contractor supporting the construction of a large-scale data center in Haskell, TX. This role provides hands-on safety leadership for structural steel erection and ironworker operations during a critical phase of the project. The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety for steel erection, crane and rigging operations, structural framing, bolting, welding, and elevated work while partnering closely with ironworkers, field supervision, and project leadership to ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • BCSP Credential (CHST, ASP, CSP, STSC, or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
  • Structural steel safety oversight experience
  • Ironworker or structural steel field experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Subpart R - Steel Erection
  • Working knowledge of Structural Steel Erection
  • Working knowledge of Ironworker Safety Practices
  • Working knowledge of Data Center Construction
  • Working knowledge of Crane & Rigging Operations
  • Working knowledge of Critical Lift Planning
  • Working knowledge of Structural Framing Systems
  • Working knowledge of Field Bolting & Structural Connections
  • Working knowledge of Structural Welding Operations
  • Working knowledge of Temporary Steel Stabilization
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Controlled Decking Zones
  • Working knowledge of Elevated Work & Aerial Lifts
  • Working knowledge of Material Hoisting & Placement
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activities for structural steel erection operations
  • Maintain a highly visible field presence alongside ironworkers and project supervision
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and risk assessments
  • Monitor structural steel erection, framing, and miscellaneous steel installation
  • Oversee field bolting, welding, and structural connection activities
  • Support crane operations, rigging, hoisting, and material placement
  • Verify proper alignment, plumbing, leveling, and temporary stabilization of structural steel members
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, OSHA Subpart R, and project safety requirements
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), lift plans, permits, and pre-task plans
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, inspections, and compliance records
  • Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the project
