The Safety Manager / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) oversees safety and health on a federal construction project and helps create a culture of care across Clark projects. The role enforces Clark’s Safety and Health Policy, project-specific programs, and applicable federal, state, and local standards. In partnership with project supervisors, the Safety Manager leads safety education and develops safe work plans for all phases and tasks. The position also contributes to business development, talent recruitment, and corporate safety initiatives. This is an active, hands-on role split between construction sites and office work. Site work includes exposure to varied weather, moderate to loud noise, elevated or confined areas, moving mechanical equipment, uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work requires frequent standing and movement, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting or carrying materials up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Office work may involve prolonged sitting for computer work, document review, and meetings. The role requires flexibility to work extended hours during critical project phases or client deadlines and to respond to time-sensitive matters or emergencies outside regular working hours.
