About The Position

Join a contractor supporting a major Army Corps of Engineers infrastructure project at the Absecon Inlet in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This opportunity provides hands-on safety oversight for structural steel installation, rebar work, civil construction activities, fabrication operations, dredging, and inlet maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience
  • Experience supporting structural steel, civil, marine, or heavy construction projects
  • Strong field safety presence and hazard recognition skills
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, and safety observations
  • Ability to work extended schedules and rotating shifts as needed
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Structural Steel Safety
  • Working knowledge of Heavy Civil Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Marine Construction & Dredging Operations
  • Working knowledge of Excavation & Trenching Safety
  • Working knowledge of Cranes, Rigging & Material Handling
  • Working knowledge of Heavy Equipment Operations
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work
  • Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily field safety oversight for structural steel, rebar, fabrication, dredging, and civil construction activities
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor steel erection, excavation, marine operations, and heavy equipment activities
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project

Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $56/hr (Local Candidates) OR $52/hr + $140/day Per Diem (Travelers)
  • Per Diem: $140/day (Non-Local Candidates)
  • Completion Bonus: $150/month
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly
