About The Position

Site Safety and Health Officer with EM-385 1-1 section 1 Level 4 qualifications and DOD experience.

Requirements

• 5 years of relevant SSHO experience with 5 years of DOD experience
• Level 4 SSHO qualified
• 30 Hour OSHA in construction
• 24 hour fall protection
• Knowledgeable of OSHA 1910, 1926 and USACE EM 385 1.1
• Must be competent in the following disciplines; Scaffolds, Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, Ladders & Stairways, Trenching & Excavations
• Able to pass security background check to enter post

Responsibilities

• Provide thorough safety orientation for all project new hires
• Provide strong safety oversite and guidance
• Guide subcontractors through the preparation of government safety requirements
• Using the behavior based approach to provide safety oversight for various construction activities, including underground utilities, elevated work, confined spaces and other general construction activities
• Conduct daily onsite safety inspections – RMS daily reporting
• Correct and document safety deficiencies
• Conduct Equipment Initial Inspections
• Daily communication with project team
• Provide accurate recordkeeping and AHA matrix
