About The Position

Join a contractor supporting the early phases of a large-scale data center construction project in Kerrville, TX. This role will oversee safety for trenching, excavation, underground utility installation, and heavy equipment operations while ensuring work is completed safely and in compliance with OSHA standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction safety professional with strong excavation experience who enjoys maintaining a visible field presence and supporting high-risk civil construction activities on a rapidly growing data center project.

Requirements

  • OSHA 500 Certification
  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
  • Proven trenching and excavation safety experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P (Excavations)
  • Working knowledge of Trenching & Excavation Safety
  • Working knowledge of Protective Systems (Sloping, Shoring & Shielding)
  • Working knowledge of Underground Utility Installation
  • Working knowledge of Heavy Equipment Operations
  • Working knowledge of Soil Classification & Hazard Recognition
  • Working knowledge of Utility Locating & Damage Prevention
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

  • Experience working around heavy equipment and earthmoving operations
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activities for trenching and excavation operations
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Monitor excavation protection systems, spoil pile placement, and safe access/egress
  • Support underground utility installation and civil construction activities
  • Monitor heavy equipment operations and material handling
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), excavation permits, and pre-task plans
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project

Benefits

  • $52/hr
  • $125/Day Per Diem
