About The Position

This role supports the new build of a manufacturing facility in Gaffney, SC focused on the assembly of solar modules. The Safety Manager will provide on-site safety leadership during active construction and equipment installation, helping ensure the project is executed in alignment with site safety expectations, regulatory requirements, and client standards. The position will work closely with field supervision, subcontractors, and project leadership to monitor daily activities, identify and address hazards, and reinforce safe work practices across the jobsite. This includes supporting a proactive safety culture during a fast-paced industrial construction environment where multiple trades and changing site conditions are expected throughout the project lifecycle. The Safety Manager will be expected to maintain strong field presence, conduct routine inspections, assist with incident prevention efforts, and promote compliance with OSHA requirements and site-specific safety procedures from project startup through key construction phases.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30
  • 5+ years of safety experience
  • Experience supporting construction or industrial project environments
  • Ability to work on-site in Gaffney, SC
  • Strong understanding of jobsite hazard recognition and OSHA compliance
  • Available to start on 5/25/26
  • Able to commit to a 4-8 month assignment
  • Comfortable working as a 1099 contractor
  • Available to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Must work on-site; no per diem available

  • Familiarity with manufacturing construction settings and fast-moving multi-trade jobsites is highly valuable for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety activity for the new build manufacturing facility project
  • Conduct regular site walkthroughs, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with site safety requirements
  • Support incident prevention, response, and documentation efforts
  • Lead or assist with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and field coaching
  • Identify unsafe conditions and work with site leadership to implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and inspection documentation
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all phases of construction and assembly activity
