About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support a manufacturing equipment installation project at an active industrial facility in Indianapolis, IN. This position will play a key role in maintaining site safety compliance while supporting daily construction and installation activities. The Safety Manager will oversee field safety operations for a team of approximately 10 millwrights and electricians involved in equipment installation. Responsibilities include ensuring safe work practices, managing high-risk work permit processes, conducting field observations, and serving as the primary safety liaison between the contractor workforce and plant safety personnel. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment, proactively identifying hazards, supporting corrective actions, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the duration of the project.

Requirements

  • OSHA 510 Certification
  • Experience supporting industrial or manufacturing projects
  • Knowledge of high-risk work permit procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and plant representatives
  • Experience conducting jobsite safety observations and inspections
  • Ability to work on-site in Indianapolis, IN for the project duration
  • Ability to monitor field activities throughout active work shifts
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to enforce safety policies while maintaining positive working relationships
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction safety practices, OSHA regulations, contractor management, hazard identification, permit-required work processes, lockout/tagout awareness, and safe execution of manufacturing equipment installation projects.
  • Experience working with skilled trades in active industrial environments and coordinating with client safety teams to maintain compliance and productivity.

Responsibilities
