About The Position

The TECO Energy Student Program offers college students the chance to gain real-world experience in their field of study. This program allows students to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow their careers. Students will undertake challenging assignments aligned with their academic background and the company's business needs. The Safety Department within TECO is responsible for leadership and safety support of TECO team members and contractors. This department collaborates with business units to establish safety expectations, advance safety initiatives, provide guidance on Public Safety Programs, manage occupational safety, health, and accident prevention, and promote a behaviorally based safety culture for World Class Safety.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Data Science, Occupational Safety or Public Health.
Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student (pursuing graduate degree).
Working knowledge of MS Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams).
Must be enrolled in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required) or will be considered an intern if not eligible for a co-op program.
Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrate a basic understanding of Safety, health, environmental, or emergency management.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of Data science principles.
