About The Position

The Test Technology Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a motivated Safety Intern to support our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program. This position offers hands‑on experience within a federal contracting environment, supporting multiple operational locations with a focus on safety compliance, hazard identification, and day‑to‑day safety operations. The role is based at our Kirtland Air Force Base location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Nice To Haves

• Currently pursuing a degree in Fire Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or a related field
• Interest in workplace safety, compliance, and risk management
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in both office and field environments

Responsibilities

• Assist with facility and site safety inspections across multiple locations
• Support hazard identification, risk evaluation, and risk acceptance documentation
• Maintain and restock first aid supplies and safety equipment
• Track and organize safety-related inventory
• Assist with documentation, reporting, and basic billing coordination
• Support implementation of safety programs, procedures, and site-specific requirements
• Participate in safety meetings, briefings, and field activities as assigned
