Safety Inspectors are required to have a strong understanding of aviation safety principles, aircraft operation and maintenance, AAR policies and federal laws. Primarily, inspectors make sure mechanics, technicians, QC inspectors, aircraft and other equipment function properly. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repair skills are also part of the job. Safety Inspectors may perform a variety of other inspections and or audits, investigations and advisory duties. However the primary requirement for positions in this specialty is knowledge and skill pertaining to the maintenance and airworthiness of aircraft.
