About The Position

This role oversees and ensures the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the public during Chimes DC operations. The Safety & Health Manager enforces corporate, federal, state, and local safety/health standards, and develops, evaluates, and updates project-specific safety programs in collaboration with the Director of QA & Compliance. The position involves conducting quarterly safety surveys, inspections, and job hazard/risk assessments, reporting findings, and recommending corrective actions. A key responsibility is delivering an annual plan for meeting health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements. The role also includes coordinating and teaching safety training, such as OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour courses, and scheduling re-certifications. Ensuring PPE and on-site security compliance is crucial. The manager may supervise staff with safety responsibilities, providing guidance, handling complaints, and making discipline recommendations. This position serves as a backup point of contact for OSHA or other regulatory reviews and performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • OSHA #501 General Industry Outreach Trainer authorization (required)
  • 5+ years of professional safety and health experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license (3+ years)
  • Must be 25+ to drive a 15-passenger van
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varied conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate degree in safety or related field preferred
  • CPR/First-Aid Instructor preferred
  • Experience with hospital standards, OSHA/DOT/EPA regulations, and CIMS-certified facilities preferred

Responsibilities
