This position will ensure that a new manufacturing location complies with all applicable Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements (State and Federal). This position requires a detailed knowledge and practical application of environment, health and safety regulations in the U.S. and North Carolina requirements. This individual will provide EHS support to operations including engineering, non-manufacturing and manufacturing. The role involves keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization, maintaining appropriate metrics, evaluating data trending, and providing data input to management reviews for continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance. The manager will implement EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures, identify location-specific requirements, and participate in the development of related programs and policies. They will also develop and conduct training programs, supervise incident/accident investigations, conduct audits and risk assessments, and coordinate corrective actions. Additionally, the role includes liaising with facilities maintenance, overseeing permitting submissions, serving as the site contact for government inquiries, functioning as a technical EHS resource, leading the site safety committee, and participating in Continuous Improvement/6S activities.
