Requirements

Currently pursuing bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology, Occupational Safety and Health, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety Sciences, required.
Graduation dates of August 2027 through May 2029, required.
Ability to work 40 hours per week, required.
Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
Successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical (if applicable).

Nice To Haves

Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale, preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists in implementing systems to meet safety regulations/performance for refinery production facility.
Assists in implementation of process and procedures to maintain compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations and permits under OSHA, TTB, FRA, EPA and state DENR.
Assists in implement facility’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Integrated Contingency Plan (ICP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC), and Risk Management Plan (RMP).
Assists in completing multi-media responsibility for task driven commitments.
Assists in establishing and maintaining relationship with local fire departments and response organizations to facilitate their participation in the Facility Response Plan.
Assists in maintaining and ensuring implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM).
Assists in ensuring implementation of Safe Work Practices (SWP), including providing training and making required changes.
Assists in implementing site security plan.
