About The Position

Caddell Construction is seeking a Safety Engineer to join our team, focusing on Data Center/Mission Critical projects. The role involves ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for employees in construction settings. You will work closely with the project team and trade partners to proactively identify, evaluate, and eliminate safety hazards. This position supports the creation and implementation of safety programs, conducts safety training and inspections, and ensures compliance with Caddell's safety program, client requirements, and relevant regulations. You will also collaborate with trade partners and vendors on safety documentation and equipment inspections, assist in accident investigations, monitor safety performance, maintain safety records, conduct new worker orientations, and attend safety meetings.

Requirements

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal abilities for professional interaction with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent organization skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, Competent Persons Training.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as STSC, GSP, etc. are preferred.
  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Safety Manager to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees in a variety of construction settings.
  • Works closely with the Caddell project team and trade partners to proactively identify, evaluate, and eliminate safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of safety programs, assist with safety training, and conduct safety observations and inspections.
  • Support safety culture to ensure compliance with Caddell safety program, client requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with trade partners, OFCI vendors, and visitors through the inspection process of the safety documentation, permits, and equipment inspections, to identify potential safety hazards and educate ways to implement controls to prevent potential incidents.
  • Work with project team to provide safety training to Caddell Staff and trade partners on a regular basis.
  • Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
  • Monitor safety performance in the workplace and provide feedback to project management.
  • Maintaining safety records and documentation.
  • Conduct new worker orientation and onboarding.
  • Attend safety and planning meetings to advantageously promote a safe workplace.
