It is the responsibility of the Safety Engineer to assist the Safety Director in Executive Construction’s safety operations. In this role, you’ll conduct routine jobsite inspections, maintain the company’s safety program and supplies, deliver safety training, assist with incident response, and partner with project teams to recognize and control hazards across our projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 hour, OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer, or BCSP accredited certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document routine job site inspections
  • Manage and update the safety program and all its components while keeping current with industry standards
  • Manage safety supply inventory (PPE, First Aid Kits, Signage, etc.)
  • Develop site-specific safety and health plans for higher risk projects as they become apparent
  • Execute project start-up kickoff meetings
  • Maintain all safety-related recordkeeping
  • Have a complete knowledge of construction industry OSHA standards
  • Assist with incident response and claims reporting procedures
  • Develop and deliver safety training materials including toolbox talks, quarterly safety meetings, and annual safety training
  • Develop and publish Safety Bulletins “Lessons Learned”
  • Support project Superintendents in both hazard recognition and hazard control
  • Attend both jobsite and management meetings, as required
  • Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Safety Director or the Director of Field Operations
  • Promote, maintain, and uphold the company’s Health and Safety Program
