Leidos is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the Antarctic Support Contract and the National Science Foundation's United States Antarctic Program. This position is remote with annual deployments within CONUS and to OCONUS locations, focusing on Antarctic Field, Peninsula, and field region(s). The role involves administering and implementing Occupational Safety, Health, and Risk Management strategies in field camp locations and operations peripheral to Antarctic stations. This position frequently deploys to Antarctic stations and field environments, serving as the primary safety point of contact (POC) for projects and operations in these areas. Additionally, the role involves off-season work to assess, develop, and implement risk management strategies and plans, and participation in pre-season science and sustain operations reviews and planning meetings. The position will deploy to Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station for the austral summer season (October 2026- February 2027), with potential for full-year deployment (October 2026- October 2027).
