About The Position

This position is posted for contractor conversion purposes for a Safety Engineer Sr.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience
  • Master's degree and no experience
  • At least 3 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
  • We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards (federal, state, and local)
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similarly regulated environments
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations, analyze findings, and implement effective corrective actions
  • Strong communication and training skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across operations, engineering, and support functions
  • Sound judgment with the ability to operate independently within defined procedures and policies
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene principles and workers’ compensation processes is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve, health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence
  • Conduct routine safety audits and workplace inspections, identifying risks and driving corrective actions through closure
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective preventive measures are implemented
  • Partner closely with production, maintenance, and medical teams to support safe and efficient operations
  • Deliver engaging training on emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures across all levels of the organization
  • Serve as a point of contact with external regulatory agencies as needed
  • Support workers’ compensation case coordination and reporting activities
  • Monitor industrial hygiene and occupational health programs to ensure ongoing compliance and risk reduction
  • Recommend and track corrective actions for identified health and safety hazards
  • Contribute to project-based initiatives requiring independent judgment and technical health and safety expertise
