The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of safety management experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on ensuring workplace safety through proactive hazard identification, compliance with OSHA regulations, and continuous improvement of safety protocols. Our team guarantees long-lasting, durable finishes, adhering to the highest safety and quality standards while staying within your project's timeline and budget. We are a licensed and insured certified WBE firm. With more than 160,000 square feet of heated indoor production space at each facility and locations in GA, AL, OK and OH, we are built for scale. Our production capacity, grit recycling systems, climate-controlled environments, and experienced crews allow us to execute complex structural steel projects safely, efficiently, and at volume. Position Summary: The Safety Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing companywide safety, health, and environmental (HSE) programs. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, Georgia state requirements, and industry best practices specific to industrial painting, sandblasting, steel fabrication, and coating operations. The Safety Director proactively promotes a strong safety culture across all job sites and facilities while reducing incidents, injuries, and regulatory risk.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of safety leadership experience, preferably in industrial construction, coatings, painting, sandblasting, steel, or manufacturing environments.
  • OSHA 30 (Construction or General Industry) – Required
  • OSHA 500 - Required
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and Georgia safety requirements.
  • Experience with industrial hazards including heights, confined spaces, blasting, coatings, silica, and heavy equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, or related field preferred.
  • CSP, ASP, CHST, or CIT – Preferred
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor – Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, Georgia state law, DOT (when applicable), and client requirements.
  • Serve as the company subject‑matter expert on OSHA regulations, including construction and general industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hazard communication (HazCom), PPE, respiratory protection, fall protection, confined space, LOTO, and silica exposure regulations.
  • Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs and manage all required reporting.
  • Develop and oversee safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Conduct new‑hire safety orientations and ongoing safety refreshers.
  • Ensure required certifications and training (OSHA 10/30, respirator fit testing, first aid/CPR, equipment certifications, etc.) are current and documented.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site visits.
  • Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits across all projects.
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risk.
  • Work directly with project managers, supervisors, and foremen to address safety concerns in real time.
  • Enforce company safety rules consistently and professionally.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents; prepare written reports and root‑cause analyses.
  • Coordinate with HR, management, and insurance carriers on workers’ compensation claims.
  • Oversee return‑to‑work and modified duty programs in compliance with medical restrictions and Georgia workers’ compensation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, inspections, and certifications.
  • Prepare safety metrics, reports, and summaries for executive leadership.
  • Support client safety prequalification requirements, audits, and contractor compliance reviews.
