This is a part-time opportunity with an hourly salary of up to $34.93. The position is FLSA Non-Exempt and included in the Civil Service system with a "for-cause" employment status. This recruitment is open part-time, and successful candidates will be placed on an open list for future vacancies. The current vacancy is within the City of Stockton Police Department. The Evidence Disposition Investigator will review, document, and collaborate with detectives, the District Attorney, and courts to obtain authorization for the disposal of evidence associated with criminal cases. The incumbent will work a flexible shift. Prior to appointment, candidates must successfully pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting. Under general supervision, this role provides assistance with technical, administrative, and field activities, performs research, and helps conduct various studies and analyses in the Police and Fire Departments. It also performs other related duties as assigned. The Safety Department Aide I classification is a staff support role, distinct from other classifications due to its wider range of assignments, greater independence, focus on specific departmental functions, and public interaction.
