About The Position
The Safety Coordinator will support a Mechanical & Fire Protection contractor on the rehabilitation of a four-story pharmaceutical laboratory facility. This project involves active construction within an existing structure, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols, documentation, and coordination with multiple trades. The role focuses on maintaining OSHA compliance, conducting site safety oversight, and supporting field teams in a fast-paced environment. The Safety Coordinator will be hands-on in the field, ensuring safety plans are followed while proactively identifying and mitigating hazards. This position requires strong technical aptitude, mechanical construction experience, and the ability to work extended hours to support an aggressive project schedule.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- OSHA 510 certification
- OSHA 30 certification
- Mechanical construction experience
- Strong technical and digital reporting skills
- Ability to work 50-60 hours per week
- Experience supporting active construction sites
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety best practices, mechanical and fire protection systems, pharmaceutical or laboratory environments, and field-based safety coordination within active renovation projects.

- Fireproofing experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
