About The Position

The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a strong safety culture at assigned customer locations for our onsite location in Sacramento, California. This position serves as a field-based safety resource for Eclipse Advantage employees and site leadership, helping ensure compliance with company safety standards, customer requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local occupational safety regulations. The Site Safety Resource reports to the Corporate Safety team and works closely with Operations, Workers’ Compensation and Human Resources to identify hazards, reduce workplace injuries, provide safety coaching and training, and drive consistent execution of Eclipse’s safety programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant safety certification as OSHA 10 hour is preferred, and ASP, CSP, or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of occupational safety experience preferred; staffing, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety principles.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, training, and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with Operations and Corporate Safety.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting/documentation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety observations, inspections, and workplace assessments at assigned sites.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and processes and work with site leadership to implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with Eclipse safety policies, customer-specific safety requirements, and applicable OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with maintaining required safety documentation, records, inspections, and training documentation.
  • Escalate significant hazards, regulatory concerns, or repeated safety violations to appropriate leadership.
  • Serve as a site resource following workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Assist with timely incident reporting and investigation.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor corrective actions through completion.
  • Work with the Workers’ Compensation team to support appropriate post-injury processes and return-to-work efforts.
  • Deliver or coordinate general awareness level safety orientations, toolbox talks, refresher training, forklift equipment training and other required safety education.
  • Ensure Client provides job specific training is implemented and documented properly for employees in higher skilled or yard related assignments.
  • Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices and hazard recognition.
  • Promote employee participation in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Reinforce accountability for safe behaviors through regular interaction with employees and site leadership.
  • Participate in their conducting of job hazard analyses and participate in risk assessments for assigned operations.
  • Notify Regional Safety Coordinator or Safety Director of changes in processes, equipment, staffing, or work assignments for potential safety impacts.
  • Support implementation of any programs established by Corporate Safety related to ergonomic, PPE, machine safety, material handling, fall protection, and other applicable safety initiatives.
  • Work in conjunction with Corporate Safety to identify trends in incidents, near misses, observations, and other safety data and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Build effective working relationships with Site Managers, Operations Managers, supervisors, customer representatives, and front-line employees.
  • Provide practical safety guidance that supports safe and efficient operations.
  • Participate in operational meetings and new-site/start-up activities when appropriate.
  • Assist Operations leadership in establishing and maintaining site-specific safety expectations.
  • Serve as a visible safety presence within assigned locations.
