About The Position

We are seeking a proactive, field-focused Safety Coordinator to support precast concrete erection operations on a large-scale data center construction project in New Albany, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who thrives in an active construction environment and understands that effective safety leadership requires more than completing paperwork. The successful candidate will maintain a visible presence in the field, identify hazards before they become incidents, and provide real-time coaching to crews performing high-risk construction activities. Working closely with the onsite Fabcon team, the Safety Coordinator will support daily safety initiatives, monitor changing site conditions, and help ensure that work is completed safely and in accordance with project requirements.

Requirements

  • Current OSHA 30 Construction certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Previous experience supporting safety operations on an active construction site
  • Strong knowledge of construction hazards and safe work practices
  • Ability to conduct field observations and maintain accurate documentation
  • Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively with craft personnel, supervisors, and project leadership
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews
  • Perform routine field observations and safety inspections
  • Monitor and maintain barricades, restricted areas, and controlled work zones
  • Perform fire watch activities as required by site operations
  • Support spotting operations and critical lifting activities
  • Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and emerging hazards
  • Provide immediate safety coaching and corrective guidance to craft personnel
  • Assist with daily safety documentation and compliance reporting
  • Support the onsite Fabcon Safety Representative with project safety initiatives
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly and professionally
  • Promote compliance with OSHA standards and site-specific safety procedures
  • Help maintain a proactive, accountable, and incident-free safety culture
