About The Position

Join a growing contractor specializing in plumbing, underground utilities, and site development throughout the Cincinnati and Dayton markets. This opportunity begins as a 1099 contract position with the intent to transition into a long-term full-time employee role for the right candidate. The Safety Coordinator will work directly with field leadership and project teams supporting major hospitals, research facilities, commercial developments, and educational construction projects while gaining exposure to a wide variety of heavy civil, utility, and site development operations. This position offers significant career growth potential, including a path toward future safety leadership roles within the organization.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • Minimum 3+ years of safety experience OR recent Safety Degree graduate
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently throughout multiple project locations
  • Willingness to spend the majority of time in the field
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Excavation & Trenching Safety
  • Working knowledge of Underground Utility Construction
  • Working knowledge of Heavy Equipment Operations
  • Working knowledge of Confined Space Entry
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection Systems
  • Working knowledge of Hot Work Permitting
  • Working knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
  • Working knowledge of Safety Audits & Compliance Inspections
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections and safety audits
  • Monitor project compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Support implementation of site safety controls and PPE programs
  • Identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions
  • Conduct field observations and safety assessments
  • Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Review jobsite safety performance and documentation
  • Support toolbox talks and safety communications
  • Assist project teams with JHAs and hazard assessments
  • Work closely with supervisors, foremen, and project leadership
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout all assigned projects
  • Travel between jobsites in the Cincinnati and Dayton markets
