About The Position

Seaman Corporation is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our Operations team in either Bristol, TN or Wooster Ohio. This position will report to the Safety Manager. The Safety Coordinator supports the Safety Manager in advancing the company’s “Safety First” mission across manufacturing facilities. This role promotes a safe work environment by supporting daily safety compliance, developing and implementing safety programs, conducting training, investigating incidents, mitigating hazards, and ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on industrial or manufacturing safety experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams, from floor operators to executive leadership.
  • OSHA 10-hour General Industry Certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in safety management or related field is preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour General Industry certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Safety Manager and the leadership group to create change and define safety solutions that are in the best interest of the overall business strategy and objectives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by partnering with management and safety teams to implement strategies that reduce injuries, near misses, and environmental events.
  • Assist with effective execution and improvement of the safety training programs that include in-person, computer-based, third party provider courses and daily meetings, as well as development of course materials.
  • Partner with supervisors and safety investigation team members by conducting root cause analysis on recordable incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement preventive actions.
  • Conduct routine safety audits across manufacturing and warehouse areas, focusing on machine guarding, chemical safety, lockout/tagout, PPE, walking-working surfaces, and behavioral safety.
  • Conduct regular safety audits in all manufacturing and warehouse areas with specific focus on machine guarding, chemical safety, lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, walking/working surfaces and behavioral audits to identify potential risks or hazards.
  • Deliver and document required new-hire and associate safety training on Hazard Communication/GHS, LOTO, confined space entry, respiratory protection, and PPE selection and use.
  • Partner with department managers and supervisors to ensure associates follow safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the Safety teams and ensure the appropriate skills and competencies are identified and developed to meet business objectives.
