About The Position

EPD is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support the execution and continuous improvement of our Safety Management System. Reporting to the Safety Manager, this role plays a critical part in maintaining safety compliance, coordinating training programs, supporting audit readiness, administering contractor safety processes, and ensuring accurate safety documentation throughout the organization. The Safety Coordinator serves as a key resource for employees, supervisors, and management while helping promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career safety professional to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing and industrial safety while building a pathway toward Safety Specialist, Safety Supervisor, and Safety Manager roles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a safety, compliance, manufacturing, or industrial support role.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during audits, inspections, and facility walkthroughs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, warehouse, and industrial environments.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to travel between work areas and project locations as needed.
  • Ability to respond appropriately during emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction Certification.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
  • First Aid / CPR / AED Certification.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, construction, or field service operations.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and safety management software.
  • Experience with incident tracking, corrective action management, and compliance reporting.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and industrial safety practices.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and administration of EPD's safety programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, policies, procedures, and compliance files.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of safety programs and processes.
  • Maintain safety metrics and reporting tools used to monitor organizational performance.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor corrective actions and verify timely closure of identified issues.
  • Assist with audit preparation, documentation reviews, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Track compliance requirements and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Help maintain audit readiness across manufacturing and operational departments.
  • Coordinate and administer new hire safety orientation programs.
  • Maintain employee training records, qualification documentation, and training matrices.
  • Assist with scheduling and tracking required safety training programs.
  • Support toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and safety communications.
  • Help ensure employees maintain required certifications and qualifications.
  • Coordinate contractor onboarding and qualification processes.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with company safety requirements.
  • Maintain contractor documentation, permits, and qualification records.
  • Support contractor audits and compliance reviews.
  • Assist in ensuring contractors meet all applicable safety standards before beginning work.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis activities.
  • Collect incident data, witness statements, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with development and tracking of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support trend analysis and reporting efforts to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Help ensure incidents are documented accurately and investigated promptly.
  • Support safety culture initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Participate in management reviews, safety meetings, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Analyze safety data and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, Manufacturing, and Field Services teams to strengthen safety performance.
  • Contribute to building a proactive and engaged safety culture.
