About The Position

The Safety Coordinator I ensures adherence to safety policies and regulations on Primoris Energy Services - Nexus project sites, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
0-2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the energy, construction, or industrial sector.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Basic understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment principles.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and interact with diverse teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred.
OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification is a plus.
First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of project sites, equipment, and work practices to identify and mitigate hazards.
Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans, procedures, and training programs.
Investigate minor incidents, near misses, and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
Provide safety orientation and training to new employees and ongoing safety briefings to existing staff.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with project management, supervisors, and employees to promote a proactive safety culture.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT).
Assist in the procurement and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Respond to safety concerns and inquiries from employees and escalate as necessary.
Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
