About The Position

This role involves assisting policyholders in establishing a strong safety culture. The Safety Consultant will collaborate with other consultants to conduct loss surveys, ensure compliance with regulations, and identify potential hazards. A key aspect of the job is supporting policyholders in implementing safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents. The role requires adaptability to a dynamic work environment and the development of skills in writing and implementing site-specific safety management plans. The consultant will also gain exposure to various industry environments and their associated risks, including oil and gas, heavy construction, transportation, maritime, USL&H, and specialty contracting.

Requirements

Ability to greet clients and colleagues in a friendly and courteous manner.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

Assist in establishing a safety culture within policyholders.
Conduct loss surveys, verify compliance, and identify unsafe conditions in collaboration with other consultants.
Assist with gathering information and documenting compliance with site safety plans, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
Support policyholders in implementing policies and procedures that prevent accidents.
Provide corrective and reinforcing feedback to policyholders through interaction with lead consultants.
Affirm policyholder implementation of safety policies and procedures under the guidance of lead consultants.
Adapt to a flexible, paced, and dynamic work environment consistent with organizational core values and the mission statement.
Develop the ability to write and implement written site-specific safety management plans.
Gain an understanding of oil and gas, heavy construction, transportation, maritime, USL&H, and specialty contractor environments and risks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
