About The Position
We are looking for individuals, age 15+, to serve as swim instructors. As a Safety Around Water (SAW) Swim Instructor, you will develop important skills such as communication, leadership, and responsibility that will serve you for a lifetime! This is a part-time, hourly position for the summer season, with shifts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Requirements
- Age 15+
- Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
- Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
- Ability to complete our in-water skills assessment
- Must have a reliable method of transportation
Responsibilities
- Working with groups and individuals to help them achieve their swim-skill goals
- Ensuring that lessons are conducted in accordance with the YMCA's internal lesson plans and policies
- Ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for the students to thrive in
