About The Position

Sortera is seeking a Safety and Training Coordinator to support the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. This role involves assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of workplace safety programs and procedures, conducting safety audits, tracking safety metrics, and maintaining safety documentation. The coordinator will also be responsible for scheduling, organizing, and tracking employee training sessions and certifications, as well as assisting in the creation and updating of training materials. Additionally, the position provides administrative and operational support, including coordinating meetings, managing calendars, and supporting internal communication initiatives. The role operates in both office and loud industrial environments and may involve inspections and extended computer use.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in safety coordination, training support, or a related administrative role preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the EHS Manager with the development, implementation, and maintenance of workplace safety programs and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments as directed.
  • Support tracking and reporting of safety metrics, incidents, corrective actions, and compliance trends.
  • Maintain and organize safety documentation, including OSHA logs, training records, and EHS-related policies and procedures.
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and overall preparedness activities.
  • Schedule, organize, and track employee training sessions, certifications, and renewal requirements.
  • Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining training materials, manuals, and digital content.
  • Monitor and report on training attendance, completion rates, and compliance needs.
  • Work with supervisors and management to identify training requirements and opportunities.
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, and communications related to safety and training activities.
  • Maintain structured calendars for safety events, training cycles, and compliance deadlines.
  • Provide general administrative support, including documentation, reporting, organization, and filing.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support internal communication and safety-awareness initiatives.
  • Perform safety and training duties, tasks, and projects as assigned by the EHS Manager.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
