About The Position

Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is hiring a PRN Safety and Security Monitor for our inpatient treatment facility in Center Township, PA! In this important role, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and structured treatment environment by monitoring patient movement, conducting safety checks, supporting clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a PA Criminal Background Check.
  • Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
  • Pass a Drug Screen.
  • Complete a 2-Step TB Test.

  • Experience working in chemical dependency, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment settings.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient movement into and out of the facility.
  • Maintain daily logs and required documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of all facility rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Conduct safety and security rounds throughout the building.
  • Conduct room inspections and complete reports of findings.
  • Conduct property and personal item searches while maintaining chain of custody procedures.
  • Support Nursing staff with visual searches during admissions.
  • Conduct patient room searches on a rotating schedule and as needed.
  • Provide crisis management and de-escalation support to clinical staff.
  • Assist Counselor Technicians with patient transfers as needed.
  • Monitor medication and MAT lines to help prevent medication diversion.
  • Coordinate K-9 walkthroughs on a rotating schedule with the Regional Director of Security.
  • Provide support to program staff as needed.
